Even as a TikTok ban looms, the creator economy remains alive and well.
Healthcare influencers — ranging from Dr. Pimple Popper to those who offer mental health advice — have risen to fame across social media platforms in recent years.
They’re also bringing in decent sums of money with sponsored posts depending on their follower base, according to a recent report out of Compare the Market.
The report ranked the 50 highest paid healthcare influencers on Instagram, with Dr. Sandra Lee, Doctor Mike and Dr. Daniel Amen taking the top three spots.
Check out a breakdown of the top five health influencers on the Meta-owned social media platform as well as the full list.
1. Dr. Sandra Lee
Dr. Sandra Lee, better known as Dr. Pimple Popper, is estimated to be the highest paid medical influencer on Instagram, the report found.
Lee, who went viral for posting videos of doctors popping pimples, has garnered 4.6 million followers on Instagram. She makes an estimated $12,190 per sponsored post.

2. Doctor Mike
Dr. Mikhail Varshavski — or Doctor Mike — has been on the social media scene for the better part of a decade.
Memorably, he was named People Magazine’s “Sexiest Doctor Alive” in 2015.
Since then, he’s built a follower base of 4.4 million people on Instagram, where he offers his perspective on public health issues and comments on health trends like Dry January.
Doctor Mike ranks as second on Compare the Market’s highest paid healthcare influencers, bringing in an estimated $11,660 per sponsored post.

3. Dr. Daniel Amen
Celebrity physician Dr. Daniel Amen, who is a psychiatrist and CEO of the Amen Clinics, has only recently shot up to third place in the highest-paid healthcare influencer ranking.
Amen, who brands himself as a brain disorder specialist, platforms brain SPECT imaging as a diagnostic tool for psychiatric issues at his company.
While he’s been wildly successful in marketing SPECT imaging, he’s also a controversial figure in the scientific world, with many likening him to a snake-oil salesman.
Still, Amen has amassed 3.8 million followers on Instagram and makes about $9,540 per sponsored post, suggesting many people look to him for advice on brain health.
Compare the Market noted that Amen previously held the 21st place on the highest-paid influencer ranking, but rapidly rose to third place over the last several years.
