Women communications executives in Los Angeles will again have the opportunity to determine what the best advertising was over the past year.

They are reviewing nominees for the Gerety Awards, which are determined exclusively by all-women juries around the world.

“The reason we decided to create this award is women account for 80% of the [consumer] purchasing decisions, so we thought from a business point of view, it would make sense to know what is it that they consider a good advertising campaign or a good creative idea?” journalist and Gerety cofounder Lucía Ongay told Campaign. “What resonates with the most powerful consumers in the world?”

The awards are named for Frances Gerety, the copywriter who created the famous slogan, “A diamond is forever” for the jewelry company De Beers. They were first distributed in 2019.

This year, the group is holding 15 executive jury sessions around the world, including New York. This is the third time they will use a jury of Los Angeles leaders.

Categories — which the organizers refer to as “cuts” — include entertainment, health, humor, media and pharma. The organizers have added an effectiveness cut this year for “work that has achieved measurable impact in meeting business objectives and fulfilling a brand’s purpose effectively,” Ongay said.

      The Los Angeles jury includes:

      • Jenn Wong, MullenLowe president
      • Jordana Freydberg, Biscuit executive producer
      • Sophie Gold, Eleanor president
      • Donna Lamar, Spotify executive creative director
      • Beth Fujiura, Translation creative director
      • Kindra Meyer, Verb executive creative director
      • Marla Moore, Buck creative director and head of strategy
      • Ariel Shukert, RPA vice president of creative
      • Becca Morton, Pinterest executive creative director
      • Carolina Pacheco, freelance producer and director
      • Angela Barber, head of production and executive producer consultant

“There is nothing I love more than invigorating discussion among inspiring women,” 72andSunny executive creative director Lauren Smith, who is leading the jury, stated in the news release. “This jury selection is a vibrant mix of women across the industry with diverse experiences and perspectives.”

Campaigns published between Jan. 1, 2024, and May 9, 2025, are eligible. The awards are now accepting nominations until May 9.
