FleishmanHillard has hired Mary Kosinski as global MD of health and life sciences, the agency’s largest sector.

Kosinski is starting in the role effective immediately, reporting to Mark Mortell, global head of practices and sectors. The last person to hold her role was Anne de Schweinitz, who left to join Takeda Pharmaceutical as head of global corporate brand and content last September.

Other new appointments within FH’s health and life sciences sector include John Gisborne as global head of strategic client partnerships, Marc Longpre as global head of strategy and insights and Jenyne Engelhardt as global head of operations and integration.

Kosinski and the new sector leadership team will work to “diversify the business, ensure career development for agency colleagues and cultivate a culture of client experience excellence,” the agency said in a statement.

“This is a pivotal time in health and life sciences around the world and I’m looking forward to embracing the opportunity to communicate clearly across the public and private sectors, leveraging the team’s expertise to deliver value and impact for our clients,” said Kosinski via email.

FleishmanHillard’s health and life sciences sector provides support across reputation, product brand building, patient and healthcare professional engagement, public affairs, crisis communications, social and innovation, research and media relations, it said in a statement.

Before joining the agency, Kosinski was head of global corporate affairs at Pi Health, an oncology clinical trial and research technology company. For nearly 15 years, Kosinski worked domestically and overseas at the Department of Health and Human Services, including the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the assistant secretary for preparedness and response. She was the first chief of staff at the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority.

Kosinski is the latest in a string of top executive appointments at FleishmanHillard. J.J. Carter was named CEO of the agency, effective in October, replacing John Saunders. The firm also named Lisa Moehlenkamp as COO, replacing Carter, and appointed Della Sweetman as president of the Americas and chief strategy officer, a title also previously held by Carter.

Other appointments include Jennifer Little as GM of its Texas business, which includes its offices in Austin and Dallas. Additional leadership changes under Carter include Faith Howe as chief of staff, Emily Frager as chief client officer, Mortell as global head of practices and sectors, Mitch Germann as chief business development and brand officer and Ephraim Cohen as global head of data and digital.

Kosinski and the leadership team will work closely with other global and regional health leaders across Omnicom PR Group agencies.

FleishmanHillard has nearly 80 offices in more than 30 countries, plus affiliates in 45 countries. The firm was named 2022 and 2023 PRWeek U.S. Agency of the Year and 2022 and 2023 PRWeek U.S. Outstanding Extra-Large Agency of the Year. It posted $745 million in annual revenue as of 2023, according to PRWeek’s Agency Business Report.

Omnicom Group’s PR firms, which include Fleishman, Porter Novelli, Ketchum and MMC, posted an organic revenue increase of 4.3% to $414.4 million in Q3 2024. Those results compare to a 5.5% organic decrease to $392.4 million in Q3 2023.

Last month, Omnicom announced its plans to acquire rival holding company Interpublic Group in a stock-for-stock deal that would create the world’s largest marketing services holding company and annual cost savings of $750 million. The deal is expected to close in the second half of 2025. IPG’s PR firms include The Weber Shandwick Collective and Golin.
