Deerfield Group has made its third acquisition, purchasing Triple Threat Communications (TTC), a New Jersey-based healthcare marketing agency.
Tim Frank, TTC’s owner and managing partner, will join Deerfield’s executive leadership team.
Both Frank and Frank Burrell, Deerfield’s CEO, emphasized the shared company value of supporting clients paired with a passion and dedication for this line of work.
“It was almost like we found a long-lost sibling. We were separated at birth and we didn’t even know it,” said Frank.
Deerfield is selective with its acquisitions, guaranteeing that similar company values are present and that it will provide an opportunity to bolster and expand its services. Meanwhile, TTC had been speaking with potential partners for years, but it wasn’t until it met with Deerfield that it decided it had found the right fit.
Frank shared that TTC has looked for four things throughout its two decades of operation: chemistry, unity, humility and energy. Burrell said Deerfield holds those same values, and added that their goal is to act as an extension of their client’s teams.
Along with strong cultural unity, joining the two companies allows for expansion of Deerfield’s services such as print management, in-house digital development, media buying, speaker training programs, medical communication services and global experience capabilities.
“There’s not a client that we really can’t support today as we come together as one larger organization,” said Burell.
Deerfield will also be able to service a wider clientele with TTC’s focus on mid to large sized pharmaceutical companies and a broader understanding of global markets.
The first priority post-acquisition will be to integrate teams from both companies. They have team bonding events planned such as a barbeque in early September and will be introducing teams in-office and remotely.
TTC and Deerfield are still working out the full logistics of integration, but the teams will maintain their client service focus by continuing to service clients as usual while bringing in additional expertise into their daily interactions. During this transition, they will be thoughtfully implementing new capabilities that support client projects.
“We’re not just growing, we’re evolving as an organization to better service our clients,” Burrell said.
