Brunswick Group has appointed Jared Hopkins as a director in its New York office.

Hopkins’ first day will be on July 14 and he will join the agency’s global healthcare team, a Brunswick Group representative said. Brunswick Group does not have formal reporting lines for client advisers. Raul Damas, partner at Brunswick Group, is the agency’s global healthcare co-lead and leads the U.S. healthcare team.

Hopkins was hired to deepen Brunswick Group’s healthcare industry services, the representative added. He will be working with the firm’s clients across the entirety of the healthcare sector, using his background and experience in the biopharmaceutical sector to support clients. Hopkins will not oversee any staff members.

Nik Deogun, Brunswick’s CEO of the Americas, said via email, “[Hopkins’] experience telling healthcare industry stories and his deep expertise in the challenges confronting companies across the sector will prove highly valuable to our clients.”

Most recently, Hopkins covered healthcare and the pharmaceutical industry as a reporter at The Wall Street Journal. Before that, he covered healthcare at Bloomberg News and was an investigative reporter at The Chicago Tribune.

WSJ representatives did not respond to a request for comment. Earlier this year, Brunswick Group hired former White House communications director Kate Bedingfield as a partner.

Brunswick Group is a global advisory firm with U.S. offices in Chicago, Dallas, New York, San Francisco and Washington, DC.

The agency reported a revenue increase of 2% globally to $490 million in 2024, according to PRWeek’s 2025 Agency Business Report.
