      The daylong leadership conference is scheduled for October 30 and will delve into numerous topics relevant to medical marketers, pharma executives and media buyers.

      Calef’s keynote comes amid Reddit’s continued momentum in the pharma space over the past few years, with the decades-old social media platform establishing itself as one of the most reliable sites for health information and conversations around health.

      “As brands have raised brand safety issues with numerous social platforms, Reddit has emerged as a community-based platform where brands can have critical conversations with consumers,” said Jameson Fleming, MM+M editor-in-chief. “Giving pharma marketers and media buyers a chance to get to know this rapidly growing space for health conversations is the best way to start an exciting day of talks.”

      Healthcare also represents one of Reddit’s fastest growing organic categories, with 48% year-over-year growth. 

      Currently, Reddit features a highly-engaged user base of more than 700 anonymous health and wellness-focused communities.

      Compared to the more image-heavy, scrolling-based sites, Reddit’s long-form structure uniquely positions the platform for health and pharma marketing.

      A case study provided by Reddit indicated that Allergan Aesthetics’ Ask Me Anything session increased brand sentiment by 55%.

      Reddit has leaned into its position as a thought leader in the health communications space, having hosted its first healthcare summit in September in response to the continued interest among health brands.

      With the 30-minute morning keynote, Calef will set the tone for the rest of the daylong event while also providing insights into how pharma brands and medical marketers can maximize their advertising opportunities on the platform.
